INTRODUCTION
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of Ratemydateni’s website, speed dating and singles events, matchmaking consultations, matchmaking memberships and related services.
By purchasing an event ticket, booking a consultation, purchasing a matchmaking membership, submitting a matchmaking profile, attending an event, or otherwise using our website or services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Please read these Terms carefully before making a purchase, booking a consultation or submitting a matchmaking profile.
Ratemydateni (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates speed dating and singles events across Northern Ireland and provides matchmaking services to eligible members.

ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
By doing any of the following, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy:
- Purchasing an event ticket through our website or a third-party platform;
- Booking or purchasing a matchmaking consultation;
- Purchasing a matchmaking membership or package;
- Submitting a matchmaking profile or other information to us;
- Attending one of our events; or
- Using our website or services.
⚠️ If you do not agree to these Terms, do not purchase an event ticket, book a consultation, purchase a matchmaking membership, submit a matchmaking profile, attend an event or use our services.
ELIGIBILITY
General Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to attend our events, book a consultation, submit a matchmaking profile or use our matchmaking services.
You must provide accurate and truthful information when purchasing a ticket, booking a consultation, submitting a profile or communicating with us. We may request reasonable evidence to verify your age, identity or information where necessary for safety, fraud prevention or the delivery of our services.
Matchmaking Eligibility
Our matchmaking service is intended for single adults who are genuinely seeking to meet compatible people for dating and relationships.
Submitting a matchmaking profile or booking a consultation does not guarantee acceptance onto a matchmaking membership or guarantee that we will be able to provide suitable introductions.
We may decline, pause or end an application or membership where this is reasonably necessary because of service availability, materially inaccurate or misleading information, fraud, serious conduct or safety concerns, or a serious breach of these Terms.
Any such decision will be made reasonably, based on the circumstances of the individual case and in accordance with applicable law.
Age-Specific Events and Services
Some events, consultations or matchmaking services may specify an age range or other eligibility criteria. By purchasing or applying for these services, you confirm that you meet the stated criteria.
We reserve the right to refuse entry to an event, decline an application or end access to a service where a person does not meet the clearly stated eligibility requirements, subject to applicable law.
Event Attendance Frequency
To help maintain a varied and positive experience for attendees, we may limit how often individuals attend events.
Individuals may:
- Attend a maximum of 3 events within any 6-month period in the same location; and
- Not attend more than 2 events in a row without a break of at least one event cycle.
This helps keep events fresh and maximises opportunities for meaningful connections for all attendees.
Mutual Matching and Attendance Review
Our events work best where there is potential for mutual connection. If an attendee has attended 3 or more events without receiving any mutual matches, we may:
- Reach out to offer feedback or suggestions;
- Recommend a break before attending further events; or
- Suggest an alternative event format or service that may be a better fit.
This approach is based on attendance and matching outcomes, not personal characteristics.
Our Commitment
We want everyone to have a positive experience. Where our events or matchmaking services are not working for you, we may, at our discretion, discuss alternative options where appropriate.
PURCHASES AND PAYMENT
Tickets, Consultations and Matchmaking Memberships
We offer a range of services, which may include:
- Standard Event Tickets: Include participation in the advertised event and match results, where applicable.
- Premium Event Tickets: Include the additional features stated at the time of purchase, such as Second Chance, Ticket Protection and Familiar Faces.
- Matchmaking Consultations: A one-time consultation service, where offered.
- Matchmaking Memberships and Packages: Premium Matchmaking Monthly, Premium Matchmaking Three Month, Elite Matchmaking One Month and Elite Matchmaking Three Month packages, where available.
The features, eligibility requirements, price, duration and inclusions for each ticket, consultation or matchmaking package will be clearly stated on the relevant purchase page before payment is taken.
Pricing
All prices are displayed in British Pounds (£). The total price payable, including any applicable taxes or charges, will be shown before you place your order.
Prices may vary depending on the event, date, ticket type, consultation or matchmaking package selected.
Premium Matchmaking Monthly is a recurring monthly membership. The relevant monthly charge, billing date and cancellation information will be shown clearly before payment is taken.
Premium Matchmaking Three Month, Elite Matchmaking One Month and Elite Matchmaking Three Month packages are fixed-term packages and do not renew automatically. Further details are set out in Section 10.
Payment Methods
We may accept payment by:
- Credit or debit card, processed through Stripe;
- PayPal; and
- Approved third-party ticketing platforms, including Eventbrite, Skiddle or TicketSource, where applicable.
Available payment methods may vary depending on the service or booking channel used.
Payment must be made in full at the time of purchase unless we expressly state otherwise. Your ticket, consultation or matchmaking membership is not confirmed until payment has been successfully processed.
Payment Processing
Payments are processed securely by our payment providers. We do not store your full payment-card details.

Order Confirmation
Once payment has been successfully processed, we will send an order-confirmation email to the email address supplied at checkout.
Depending on the service purchased, the confirmation may include:
- Event, consultation or membership details;
- The price paid and payment date;
- The membership duration and renewal information, where applicable;
- Instructions for cancellation, where applicable;
- Relevant event details or next steps; and
- Information about any applicable statutory cancellation rights.
For event tickets, we may also send a pre-event reminder, typically around 48 hours before the event.
Please check your spam or junk folder if you do not receive a confirmation email within 10 minutes of payment.
Ticket Category Selection
When purchasing an event ticket, you must select the ticket category that matches the eligibility criteria stated on the relevant event page. This helps us manage attendance and maintain the intended balance for the event.
Purchasing a ticket for a category for which you are not eligible may result in entry being refused, subject to applicable law and these Terms.
REFUNDS AND CANCELLATIONS
This event-ticket refund policy applies only to tickets for our events. Matchmaking consultations and matchmaking memberships are governed by the separate provisions in Sections 10 and 10A, including any applicable statutory cancellation rights.
⚠️ Important: Event Ticket Refund Policy
Event tickets are non-refundable except where we cancel the event, Premium Ticket Protection applies, or applicable law requires otherwise.
Event Ticket Refunds
Event tickets are non-refundable after purchase, including where you can no longer attend because of:
- Change of mind;
- Illness or medical emergencies;
- Travel disruption;
- Work commitments;
- Personal circumstances;
- Weather conditions; or
- Any other reason outside our control.
Nothing in this section affects any rights you may have under applicable law.
Ticket Transfers
Ticket holders may request to transfer their ticket to another person, subject to our written approval and the following conditions:
- The replacement attendee must meet the eligibility criteria stated for the relevant event and ticket category;
- You must notify us at least 24 hours before the event;
- You must email info@ratemydateni.com with the original ticket holder’s name, the replacement attendee’s name and their contact details;
- The transfer is not confirmed unless we approve it in writing; and
- We may refuse a transfer where it would affect the intended eligibility or balance of the event, or where there is another reasonable operational or safety concern.
Note: We cannot guarantee that a replacement attendee will have the same matching experience or outcomes, as matching is based on in-person interaction.
Premium Ticket Protection
Premium Event Ticket holders may use Ticket Protection to move their booking once to another suitable event where they can no longer attend the original event.
Ticket Protection is subject to the following conditions:
- You must give us at least 48 hours’ notice before the scheduled event;
- The alternative event must have suitable availability;
- The alternative event must be of equal or lower ticket value;
- The replacement booking must meet the eligibility criteria for the alternative event; and
- Ticket Protection may be used once per Premium Event Ticket.
To use Ticket Protection, email info@ratemydateni.com at least 48 hours before your scheduled event.
Event Cancellation by Us
If we cancel an event because of insufficient numbers, venue issues or another operational reason, you may choose either:
- A full refund of the amount paid for your ticket; or
- A transfer to another suitable event, subject to availability.
We will notify ticket holders as soon as reasonably practicable, typically around 48 hours before the event where possible.
We are not responsible for travel, accommodation or other costs you have incurred in connection with an event, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
Event Changes
We may make reasonable changes to an event where necessary, including changes to:
- The venue;
- The event format or activities;
- The start time; or
- Other operational arrangements.
We will notify ticket holders of significant changes by email. Minor changes, such as a slight timing adjustment, do not normally entitle you to a refund.
Where a change is material, we will provide any remedy required by applicable law.
EVENT ATTENDANCE
Check-In Requirements
To attend an event, you must:
- Arrive during the stated arrival time, which is typically 15–30 minutes before the event starts;
- Bring valid photo identification where reasonably requested to verify your age, identity or ticket eligibility;
- Check in with our event staff before entry; and
- Wear appropriate attire where a dress code is stated for the event.
Late arrivals may be refused entry where joining late would disrupt the event or affect the experience of other attendees.
If you need a reasonable adjustment to attend or participate in an event, please contact us in advance at info@ratemydateni.com. We will consider reasonable requests in accordance with applicable law.
Dress Code
Most events specify a Smart Casual dress code. Unless otherwise stated for a particular event, this generally means:
- No sportswear or gym clothing;
- No flip-flops or beach sandals;
- No offensive, unsafe or inappropriate clothing; and
- A neat, clean and presentable appearance.
We may refuse entry where attire does not meet the clearly stated dress code or would be inappropriate for the venue or event.
Event Format
Our standard speed-dating format may include:
- Multiple short dates, typically lasting around 4–5 minutes each;
- The opportunity to meet a number of attendees, depending on attendance levels;
- Breaks for refreshments and mingling;
- Match cards or another method of indicating interest; and
- Hosted facilitation by our staff.
Event formats, timings and attendee numbers may vary. The relevant event page will set out the key details for that event.
Match Results
After the event:
- You will submit your match preferences using the method provided at the event;
- We will process mutual matches, where both attendees have expressed interest;
- Match results are normally emailed within 24 hours after the event, although this may occasionally take longer; and
- You will receive contact details only for your mutual matches.
Important: Match results are available only to ticket holders who attended the event. No-shows do not receive match results.
We do not guarantee that you will receive any mutual matches or that any connection will result in further communication, dates or a relationship.
CONDUCT AND BEHAVIOUR
Expected Behaviour
When attending our events, communicating with our team, or using our matchmaking services, you agree to:
- Treat attendees, members, staff and venue personnel with respect;
- Communicate honestly and respectfully;
- Respect personal boundaries, consent and the right of others not to continue a conversation or interaction;
- Follow reasonable instructions from our staff and venue personnel;
- Consume alcohol responsibly where alcohol is available;
- Provide accurate information about yourself, including your age, relationship status and other material profile information; and
- Act in a way that does not disrupt an event, compromise safety or negatively affect the experience of others.
Prohibited Behaviour
The following behaviour is prohibited:
- Harassment, bullying, intimidation or unwanted sexual, verbal or physical conduct;
- Discrimination, hateful conduct or offensive behaviour towards any person;
- Aggressive, threatening, violent or abusive behaviour;
- Excessive intoxication, illegal drug use or behaviour affected by alcohol or drugs that creates a safety concern;
- Inappropriate physical contact or sexual behaviour without clear consent;
- Taking photographs, video, audio recordings or screenshots of other attendees or members without their permission;
- Sharing another person’s personal information, photograph or profile details without their permission;
- Pressuring another attendee or member to provide contact information or continuing unwanted contact after they have declined or asked you to stop;
- Attempting to bypass the official match process to obtain another attendee’s contact details;
- Fraudulent, misleading or materially inaccurate representation of yourself; or
- Any other conduct that we reasonably consider unsafe, seriously disruptive or inconsistent with these Terms.
Consequences of Misconduct
Where we reasonably believe that you have breached these conduct rules, we may take action that is proportionate to the circumstances, including:
- Giving you a warning;
- Removing you from an event;
- Refusing entry to a current or future event;
- Pausing or ending your matchmaking membership or access to our services;
- Withholding match results where appropriate;
- Reporting serious incidents to the venue, security staff, police or another relevant authority; and
- Taking any other reasonable action necessary to protect attendees, members, staff or the integrity of our services.
Where removal, refusal of entry or termination results from serious misconduct, fraud or a serious breach of these Terms, no refund will be due except where required by applicable law.
Safety Concerns and Reporting
If you feel unsafe, experience inappropriate behaviour, or witness a safety concern, please notify a member of staff as soon as possible or email info@ratemydateni.com.
We will take reports seriously and handle them sensitively. Information will be shared only with people who need it to investigate, manage safety, comply with a legal obligation or protect someone from serious harm.
We cannot guarantee complete confidentiality where disclosure is necessary to deal with a serious safety concern, investigate suspected unlawful conduct or comply with a legal obligation.
LIABILITY AND DISCLAIMERS
Third-Party Venues
Our events are held at third-party venues. While we take reasonable care in selecting venues, we do not control their day-to-day operations, facilities, staff or other patrons.
We are not responsible for:
- The acts or omissions of venue staff or other venue patrons;
- Food and drink supplied by a venue or third-party provider;
- Venue facilities, amenities, accessibility arrangements or services controlled by the venue; or
- Venue security arrangements outside our reasonable control.
This does not exclude or limit our liability where loss, damage or injury is caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or where liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Personal Belongings
You are responsible for your personal belongings during an event.
We are not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged belongings, valuables left unattended, or items left at a venue after an event, except where loss or damage is caused by our negligence or where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
Please keep personal belongings and valuables with you at all times.
Health, Safety and Participation
You are responsible for deciding whether you are able to attend and participate in an event safely.
You should not attend an event if you know, or reasonably suspect, that you have a contagious illness that could create a material risk to other attendees, staff or venue personnel.
If you need a reasonable adjustment to attend or participate, please contact us in advance at info@ratemydateni.com. You do not need to disclose medical information unless you choose to do so in order to request support.
If you need urgent assistance during an event, please notify a member of staff as soon as possible.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Service Standard
We will provide our events and services with reasonable care and skill. However, we do not guarantee any particular social, dating, relationship or matchmaking outcome.
MATCH SERVICES
How Event Matching Works
Our event matching service generally operates as follows:
- You meet other attendees through the event format;
- You submit your match preferences using the method provided at the event;
- We identify mutual matches where both attendees have selected each other; and
- We normally send match results by email within 24 hours after the event, although this may occasionally take longer.
Information Shared With Mutual Matches
Where a mutual match is recorded, we will share your first name and the email address you submitted for match-result purposes with that mutual match.
By selecting another attendee as a match, you ask us to share your first name and submitted email address with that attendee if they also select you as a mutual match.
We will not share additional personal information unless this has been clearly explained to you and is necessary for the relevant service or separately agreed by you.
Your Responsibilities After Receiving Match Details
If you receive another person’s contact details through our match service, you must:
- Use those details only for respectful personal communication connected with the mutual match;
- Not share, publish, sell, add to marketing lists or otherwise misuse the other person’s information;
- Respect a person’s boundaries, including where they do not respond or ask you not to contact them again; and
- Report any safety or conduct concerns to us promptly.
We are not responsible for communications, behaviour or relationship outcomes after contact details have been shared, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
No Guarantees
We do not guarantee:
- Any specific number of matches;
- That you will receive a mutual match;
- The accuracy, completeness or reliability of information supplied by another attendee;
- That a mutual match will result in further communication, a date or a relationship; or
- Any particular social, dating or relationship outcome.
MATCHMAKING MEMBERSHIPS: PAYMENT, TERM, RENEWAL AND CANCELLATION
The price, duration, features and services included in each matchmaking membership package will be clearly shown on the relevant purchase page before payment is taken.
Membership Start, Duration and Availability
Your matchmaking membership begins once payment has been successfully processed and will continue for the package period selected at checkout. The relevant membership period and any renewal information will be confirmed in your payment confirmation email.
We will provide matchmaking services with reasonable care and skill. However, matchmaking depends on the availability, suitability, preferences and mutual interest of members.
Any stated number of recommendations, introductions or matches is a maximum and not a guarantee. We do not guarantee a particular number of recommendations, introductions, dates, responses or relationship outcomes.
Premium Matchmaking – Monthly Membership
Premium Matchmaking Monthly is a recurring monthly membership.
The current Premium Matchmaking Monthly price is £79 per month. You will be charged £79 when you purchase the membership and £79 on each monthly billing date thereafter unless you cancel before the next billing date.
When you purchase this package, you authorise Ratemydateni to take the monthly membership payment at the start of your membership and automatically take the applicable monthly payment on each future billing date until you cancel.
Your Premium Matchmaking Monthly membership continues on a rolling monthly basis until cancelled. There is no minimum commitment beyond the current paid monthly membership period.
You may cancel future Premium Matchmaking Monthly renewals at any time by emailing info@ratemydateni.com with the subject line “Cancel Premium Membership”.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid monthly membership period. No further renewal payment will be taken after cancellation takes effect. We do not charge a cancellation fee for ending Premium Matchmaking Monthly.
Where we change the monthly membership price, we will give reasonable written notice before the new price applies. You may cancel before the next renewal date if you do not wish to continue at the new price.
Premium Matchmaking – Three Month Package
The Premium Matchmaking Three Month Package is a fixed-term membership lasting three months.
Payment is taken once at the start of the package and covers the full three-month membership period.
This package does not renew automatically. At the end of the three-month period, your membership will end unless you actively choose and purchase another matchmaking package.
We may contact you before the end of your package to discuss further membership options, but no further payment will be taken without your express agreement.
Elite Matchmaking – One Month Package
The Elite Matchmaking One Month Package is a fixed-term membership lasting one month.
Payment is taken once at the start of the package and covers the full one-month membership period.
This package does not renew automatically. Your Elite Matchmaking membership will end after the one-month period unless you actively choose and purchase another package.
Elite Matchmaking – Three Month Package
The Elite Matchmaking Three Month Package is a fixed-term membership lasting three months.
Payment is taken once at the start of the package and covers the full three-month membership period.
This package does not renew automatically. Your Elite Matchmaking membership will end after the three-month period unless you actively choose and purchase another package.
Consultation Fees
Where a consultation fee applies, it is a one-time payment for the booked consultation appointment only. It does not automatically renew and does not create an ongoing matchmaking membership unless you separately choose and purchase a matchmaking package.
Optional Social Media Profile Promotion
We may create and publish member-profile promotional content on our social media channels, including TikTok, Instagram and Facebook, only where you have given separate, voluntary consent for us to do so.
Agreeing to profile promotion is not a condition of applying for, purchasing or receiving our matchmaking services.
Where you opt in, we may use only the profile details that you have agreed may be used. This may include your age range, broad location, occupation, interests and a non-identifiable silhouette image.
We will not publish your full name, contact details, exact address or identifiable photographs unless you have separately agreed to this in writing.
Although we take steps to avoid identifying you, a combination of profile details may be recognisable to people who know you. This will be explained before you choose whether to opt in.
We will not use profile-promotion content in paid advertising unless you have given separate consent for paid advertising use.
You may withdraw consent for future profile-promotion content at any time by emailing info@ratemydateni.com. We will stop creating or scheduling new profile-promotion content using your details and will remove original content from channels under our control where reasonably practicable. We cannot guarantee removal of screenshots, re-shares or copies made by third parties outside our control.
MATCHMAKING MEMBERSHIPS: STATUTORY CANCELLATION RIGHTS
Statutory Cancellation Rights
When you purchase a matchmaking consultation or matchmaking membership online, you have a statutory right to cancel the contract within 14 days from the day after the contract is made.
This statutory cancellation right is separate from cancelling a future Premium Matchmaking Monthly renewal.
Starting Matchmaking Services Early
We will begin substantive matchmaking work during the statutory cancellation period only where you have expressly requested that we do so in writing, including by actively selecting the relevant early-start acknowledgement in your matchmaking profile form.
Matchmaking services may include:
- Profile review;
- Consultation preparation;
- Profile creation;
- Database searches;
- Compatibility research;
- Outreach;
- Recommendation preparation; and
- Communication with you about potential introductions.
If you expressly request that we begin providing services during the statutory cancellation period and then exercise your statutory right to cancel, we may retain or charge a proportionate amount for services actually supplied up to the date of cancellation.
Any refund due will be calculated after taking account of the work completed and services delivered before cancellation. We will not automatically retain the full package price solely because payment has been made.
If the service has been fully performed during the statutory cancellation period, and you gave prior express consent to immediate performance and acknowledged that you would lose the right to cancel once the service was fully performed, your statutory cancellation right may end at that point.
If you do not request an early start, we may wait until the statutory cancellation period has ended before beginning substantive matchmaking work.
Cancellation of Renewal and Ongoing Service
For Premium Matchmaking Monthly, you may cancel future monthly renewals at any time by emailing info@ratemydateni.com with the subject line “Cancel Premium Membership”.
To avoid a further monthly payment, your cancellation request must be received before the next billing date. A cancellation request received after a renewal payment has been processed will take effect at the end of the then-current paid monthly membership period.
Where you are cancelling a future renewal rather than exercising a statutory cancellation right, your membership will remain active until the end of your current paid membership period. We will continue to provide the service during that period unless you tell us that you want the service to stop sooner.
If you ask us to stop providing services before the end of a paid membership period or fixed-term package, we will stop as soon as reasonably practicable. No refund is due solely because you decide not to use the remaining service, except where required by applicable law or where we agree otherwise in writing.

PREMIUM EVENT TICKET FEATURES
Premium Event Ticket features are available only to holders of a Premium Event Ticket and are subject to the terms below, the relevant event details and availability. Ticket Protection is also subject to Section 5 of these Terms.
Second Chance Feature
The Second Chance feature may allow a Premium Event Ticket holder to:
- See the first name of attendees who indicated an interest in them, including where that interest was not mutual;
- Review and update their own match selections after the event, within the time and process notified by us; and
- Reconsider attendees they initially chose not to select.
Contact details will only be shared where there is a mutual match. The Second Chance feature does not guarantee contact, a mutual match, further communication or any particular outcome.
All attendees are informed that, where this feature applies, a Premium Event Ticket holder may be shown their first name if they indicate interest in that Premium Ticket holder, even where the interest is not mutual.
Once match results have been processed or issued, it may no longer be possible to amend match selections.
Ticket Protection
Premium Event Ticket holders may use Ticket Protection to move their booking once to another suitable event where they can no longer attend the original event.
Ticket Protection is subject to the following conditions:
- You must give us at least 48 hours’ notice before the scheduled event;
- The alternative event must have suitable availability;
- The alternative event must be of equal or lower ticket value;
- You must meet the stated eligibility criteria for the alternative event; and
- Ticket Protection may be used once per Premium Event Ticket.
To request Ticket Protection, email info@ratemydateni.com at least 48 hours before the scheduled event.
Familiar Faces
Where reasonably possible, we may provide Premium Event Ticket holders with an aggregate indication of how many attendees at an upcoming event have previously attended an event with them.
This feature is intended to help members make an informed decision about attending. It does not disclose another attendee’s identity, booking history, contact details or any other personal information.
Familiar Faces information is provided where available and is not guaranteed for every event.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
General Position
We provide our events and services with reasonable care and skill. However, we do not guarantee any particular social, dating, matchmaking, relationship or personal outcome.
Matters Outside Our Reasonable Control
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for loss, damage or disappointment arising solely from:
- The conduct, statements, actions or omissions of attendees, members, venue staff, venue patrons or other third parties;
- The accuracy, completeness or reliability of information supplied by another attendee or member;
- The outcome of any match, introduction, conversation, date or relationship;
- Third-party venues, transport providers, payment providers or other third-party services outside our reasonable control;
- Loss, theft or damage to personal belongings, except where caused by our negligence;
- Events outside our reasonable control, including severe weather, public-health restrictions, transport disruption, venue closures or other force majeure events; or
- Any failure to achieve a particular social, dating, relationship or matchmaking outcome.
Maximum Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for a claim arising from a specific ticket, consultation, membership package or other service will not exceed the amount paid by you for that specific service.
Liability We Cannot Exclude
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- Our obligation to provide services with reasonable care and skill;
- Any statutory consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted; or
- Any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Our Content
All intellectual-property rights in our website, branding, event formats, written content, graphics, logos, images, videos and other materials are owned by us or used with permission.
You may view and use our website and materials for your personal, non-commercial use only. You must not, without our prior written permission:
- Copy, reproduce, republish, distribute or commercially exploit our content;
- Use our name, branding, logos or event materials in a way that suggests our endorsement;
- Create derivative works based on our content or event formats; or
- Use our content, attendee information or member information for commercial, promotional or competing purposes.
Content You Submit
This section does not change how we handle matchmaking profiles, photographs, contact details or other personal information. Those details are processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and any separate consent you provide.
If you voluntarily submit a review, testimonial, feedback or other content to us, you confirm that you have the right to provide it and that it does not infringe another person’s rights.
You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce and adapt that content for the purpose of operating, reviewing and improving our services.
We will use a review, testimonial, name, photograph or other identifiable content for public marketing or promotional purposes only where you have separately agreed to that use, unless the content was already publicly posted by you on a third-party review platform.
We may remove or decline to use submitted content that is unlawful, misleading, offensive, infringes another person’s rights or is inconsistent with these Terms.
PRIVACY AND DATA PROTECTION
Your use of our website, events, match services and matchmaking services is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect personal information, including information used for:
- Event bookings, attendance and event administration;
- Event matching and the sharing of limited contact details with mutual matches;
- Premium Event Ticket features, including Second Chance and Familiar Faces;
- Matchmaking consultations, memberships, profile review and introductions;
- Payment processing, fraud prevention and customer support;
- Marketing communications, where permitted by law; and
- Optional profile-promotion, paid-advertising and event-photo or video uses where applicable.
The Privacy Policy also explains your rights under applicable data-protection law, including your rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, object to, or withdraw consent for certain uses of your information.

THIRD-PARTY TICKETING PLATFORMS
Where you purchase an event ticket through a third-party platform, such as Eventbrite, Skiddle or TicketSource, you may also be subject to that platform’s own terms, privacy policy and payment-processing procedures.
- The third-party platform may handle booking confirmation, payment processing, ticket delivery and certain booking-support enquiries;
- Our event-attendance, conduct, cancellation and refund terms continue to apply to the event unless clearly stated otherwise;
- For technical, payment-processing or account-access issues, you may need to contact the relevant platform directly; and
- For event attendance, Ticket Protection, transfers, safety concerns or event-specific questions, contact us at info@ratemydateni.com.
Nothing in this section affects any statutory rights you may have.
AMENDMENTS TO TERMS
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms where reasonably necessary because of changes to the law, our services, payment providers, safety procedures, operational processes or other legitimate business reasons.
Any updated version will be published on our website with a revised “Last Updated” date.
Notice of Significant Changes
Where a change is material and affects an existing booking, consultation or membership, we will provide reasonable notice by email where we hold a current email address and/or by displaying a notice on our website.
Changes will not retrospectively alter the core price, duration or agreed services of an already-paid fixed-term matchmaking package, except where required by law or where the change is clearly beneficial to you.
Where we change the price or a material term of Premium Matchmaking Monthly, we will give reasonable notice before the change takes effect. You may cancel before the next renewal date if you do not wish to continue.
Your Acceptance
By continuing to use our services after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms. This does not affect any statutory rights you may have.
TERMINATION
Our Right to Refuse, Pause or End Services
We may refuse, pause or end access to an event, consultation, membership or other service where reasonably necessary because of:
- Serious misconduct, harassment, fraud or a serious safety concern;
- A material breach of these Terms;
- Materially inaccurate, misleading or fraudulent information provided to us;
- A failure to meet clearly stated eligibility requirements; or
- Another reasonable operational, legal or safety reason.
Effect of Termination
Where we end or restrict a service because of serious misconduct, fraud or a serious breach of these Terms, no refund will be due except where required by applicable law.
Where we cancel an event, consultation or membership for reasons not caused by your breach of these Terms, we will provide any remedy required by applicable law. Depending on the circumstances, this may include a transfer, alternative service, credit or proportionate refund.
We may retain information where required or permitted by applicable law and in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
DISPUTE RESOLUTION

If you have a complaint or dispute, please contact us first at info@ratemydateni.com.
- Please provide your name, booking or membership details and a clear description of the issue;
- We will aim to acknowledge and consider your complaint within 14 business days; and
- We will aim to resolve the matter fairly and amicably where possible.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Northern Ireland.
Nothing in these Terms affects any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have or prevents you from bringing a claim in any court that has jurisdiction under applicable law.
GENERAL PROVISIONS
Agreement and Priority of Documents
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, the relevant purchase or booking page, and your order-confirmation email, set out the terms that apply to your use of our services.
If there is a conflict between these Terms and the specific details shown on the relevant purchase page or confirmation email, the specific purchase details will take priority for that booking, consultation or membership.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force to the extent permitted by law.
No Waiver
Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.
Assignment
You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our written agreement.
We may transfer our rights and obligations to another appropriate person or business, provided that doing so does not materially reduce your rights under these Terms.
Events Outside Our Reasonable Control
We are not responsible for delay or failure to perform our obligations where this is caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including severe weather, venue closures, public-health restrictions, transport disruption, natural disasters or government action.
Where an event is cancelled or materially affected, the remedies in the Refunds and Cancellations section will apply.

By purchasing a ticket, consultation or matchmaking membership, you acknowledge that:
- You have read and understood these Terms;
- You agree to be bound by these Terms;
- You understand the Event Ticket Refund Policy where you purchase an event ticket;
- You understand that matchmaking consultations and memberships are subject to the separate cancellation, renewal and statutory-rights provisions in these Terms;
- You understand that photos or video may be taken at some events for event-recap content;
- If you do not wish to appear in event-recap content, you should tell staff before or during the event or email info@ratemydateni.com, and we will take reasonable steps to accommodate this where practicable;
- Identifiable images will only be used in paid advertising with your explicit opt-in consent;
- You are at least 18 years old; and
- You will conduct yourself appropriately at our events and in your dealings with attendees, members and staff.
